Nicolaus Copernicus

Nicolaus Copernicus (1473-1543) was born in Torun, Poland, on February 14, 1473. Is an astronomer Nicolaus inventor of solar system (the Sun as the center of the solar system), and father of modern astronomers. Discoveries concerning the Sun as the center of the solar system led to the birth of Kepler's laws and Newton's law of gravitation.

Copernicus learn about astronomy, astrology, and geology at the college at the University of Krakau. In 1543 Copernicus made a book with the title "Velocity Space Objects". The book contains an explanation that the earth rotates on its axis, the Earth and other planets around the sun, and the Moon around the Earth. Copernicus died in Frauenburg, East Prussia (Poland), on May 24, 1543 in Frombork, Poland at the age of 70 years.
